Learn how to develop WebAR experiences using the 8th Wall platform in this technical walk-through. The 8th Wall team will lead a live tutorial on how to develop interactive WebAR/VR experiences that run everywhere using 8th Wall’s AR Engine and Cloud Editor platform. Introduced in 2018, 8th Wall’s AR Engine supports both image tracking and world tracking (at the same time!), and runs entirely in javascript in mobile browsers. After a year of commercial WebAR developer feedback, the purpose-built Cloud Editor was released for professional WebAR development and deployment. Come prepared for a deep dive into the tools and tech that power today’s commercial WebAR experiences!

For augmented reality (AR) to be broadly adopted across industries and embraced by consumers, AR experiences need to be context-aware and to intelligently interact with the real world. Unity’s Mixed and Augmented Reality Studio (MARS) addresses this challenge.
Join us for a walk-through of the MARS proxy-based workflow. We’ll cover a breadth of AR experiences across industries, discuss how to take full advantage of complex real-world environments, and share how to design fallbacks to allow experiences to function even in worst-case AR scenarios. Throughout the session, we'll explore core MARS workflow concepts and AR authoring philosophies.

In this talk we will share advice for building instinctual interactions for HoloLens that leverage fully articulated hand tracking, eye tracking, and spatial awareness. We will then show how to apply those principles in using Mixed Reality Toolkit (MRTK), a cross-platform UX toolkit for Unity that makes it easy to build user interfaces for Mixed Reality on a wide range of devices.
