Her experience spans partnering with community organizations on giving children and youth the opportunity to create with XR tools, guiding higher ed institutions through the process of XR adoption, advising ed tech and XR startups, and, in her role as an immersive learning consultant with MetaVRse, pioneering the translation of of 2D training into 3D experiences for enterprise.

Dr. Alexander is a co-founder of XR Women, a worldwide network of professionals that meet weekly in virtual worlds and where a distinguished list of XR industry speakers has appeared. As part of the team that produces The Polys - WebXR Awards, WebXR Summit Series, and MetaTr@versal, she has worked with some of the most influential thought leaders in spatial computing. Bringing her passion for metaverse literacy back to her academic roots, Dr. Alexander is host of the WebXR Education Summit, assembling a diverse array of practitioners to share knowledge on successful implementation of immersive learning. She is also a member of the Immersive Learning Research Network’s State of XR and Immersive Learning Expert Panel.
Prior to her work in XR, Dr. Alexander was Dean of Junior and Senior Year programs at the women’s college at Rutgers University and Senior Editor of Signs: Journal of Women and Culture in Society. Her experience in higher education ranges across teaching, program design, journal editing, and college administration, with specializations in art, literature, film, and cultural production. She holds master’s degrees in English, Philosophy, and Issues in Modern Culture and earned her PhD at the University of London.
