Alina Nikolaou, PhD is a Communication Science scholar and transdisciplinary curator who specializes in dissecting the hypes, hopes and hypocrisies that surround emerging technologies. Her doctoral research investigated the effectiveness of XR impact contents, in particular whether, how and why VR experiences might induce social attitude and behavioral change. In addition to her academic work she curates and directs TEDxVienna, where she identifies ideas from the worlds of science, philosophy and power and brings them to life in the form of TEDx Talks. In her free time, Alina is also the creator of the (so far unsuccesful) dadaist Bring Back Boredom movement.
