Will Austin is an award-winning Sr. Designer on USA TODAY’s Emerging Tech team. He is responsible for leading editorial and product design workflows as applied to experiential storytelling initiatives within immersive technologies like virtual and augmented reality. Leveraging his expertise in interactive design, Will drives the creative direction by working closely with newsrooms to produce news stories that resonate with USA TODAY NETWORK’s local and national audiences. His work as part of the Emerging Tech team has been recognized with over 12 industry awards for innovation in design and storytelling including Fast Company’s “Most Innovative Companies in the World” (VR/AR in 2019) and an Edward R. Murrow for “Excellence in Innovation”.
