Sandy leads strategy and coordination for Meta’s Reality Labs Policy team. Since joining Meta, Sandy has worn a number of different hats, from helping to build the Oversight Board; to leading the Asia Pacific policy team’s early-stage response to the COVID-19 pandemic; to designing digital entrepreneurship trainings for Thailand’s deaf community.
Before trying her hand at tech policy, Sandy was a U.S. diplomat, with postings in Indonesia, Thailand, Colombia, and as a delegate to the UN General Assembly’s Third Committee on Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Affairs. A lawyer by training, she has also worked with the International Rescue Committee to provide legal assistance to refugees living along the Thai-Myanmar border and as a litigator with Reed Smith LLP.
