Joan V. O'Hara
Vice President of Public Policy XR Association

Joan O’Hara joined the XR Association (XRA) in June of 2020 and serves as Vice President for Public Policy. In this role, Joan contributes to the discussion around emerging technology policy issues including user privacy, industry best practices, and government regulation. She also engages Members of Congress and the Administration to educate them about the myriad applications for XR across both the public and private sectors, and to highlight the transformative nature of immersive technologies overall. Before joining XRA, Joan was Director for Government Relations Policy at Booz Allen Hamilton. An attorney, Joan also has an extensive background in public service, having served as Executive Secretary of the National Security Council; Deputy National Security Advisor to the U.S. Vice President; and General Counsel of the House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security.
