Dr. Julia Hahn has been a researcher at the Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) since 2011. She has experience working in several EU-funded projects (Responsible Research and Innovation in Practice,
Responsible Industry, Parliaments and Civil Society in Technology Assessment), especially focusing on small- and large-scale stakeholder and citizen engagement. Her research interests include participatory methods of Technology Assessment, integrated Technology Assessment
as well as Responsible Research and Innovation. She is also co-coordinator of the globalTA Network, which brings together over 30 non-profit institutions and think tanks from around the world working together in the area of science and technology, promoting responsible and sustainable research and innovation to tackle global grand challenges. She received her Master's Degree Cultural Sciences from Leuphana University Lüneburg and in obtained her PhD in Philosophy at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology focusing on the conceptual and
practical implications of a global Technology Assessment, particularly in Germany, China and India. Further developing a global framework for the assessment of impacts of (new) technologies as well as how to provide concrete and relevant advice in this context continues to be a focus for her.
