Hugo Swart is a seasoned technology executive with a proven track record of building and scaling emerging technology businesses. As Senior Director of XR Ecosystem Strategy and Technology at Google, he is responsible for the growth of the Android XR ecosystem across hardware, technology, and experiences for headsets and smart glasses.

Swart spent two decades at Qualcomm, where he established Qualcomm's XR business as a market leader from the ground up. Notably, in 2016, he pioneered the VR standalone category by developing the first-of-its-kind standalone VR reference design, which served as a catalyst for the development of numerous current headsets.

Throughout his career, Swart has specialized in building technology businesses from inception, including drones & robotics, wearables, TV media boxes, and driving the adoption of new mobile internet wireless standards. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering and an MBA.
